Removing
1. Remove a transmission, the corresponding chapter see.
2. Move the release bearing yoke to the side and remove the bearing.
3. Remove the rubber boot and release fork by pushing them towards the pressure plate.
Examination
4. Squeeze the release bearing with your hands on the housing and rotate it at the same time. The bearing must rotate easily, otherwise replace it (see illustration).
3.4 Squeeze the release bearing with your hands on the housing and rotate it at the same time
5. Check up a condition and tightness of the epiploon which is behind a release bearing. If necessary, contact a workshop to replace it.
6. Lubricate the release bearing guide with a thin coat of molybdenum grease such as MOLYKOTE BR.
Attention! Do not apply large amounts of lubricant. Its surplus will be thrown out when the engine is running on the friction lining.
Installation
7. Apply a light coat of molybdenum grease such as MOLYKOTE BR to the release fork.
8. Install the clutch release fork and protective rubber boot.
9. Install the release bearing in the guide and insert the hooks A into the release fork (see illustration).
3.9 Install the release bearing in the guide and insert the hooks A into the release fork
10. Lubricate the contact surface of the release bearing against the diaphragm spring of the pressure plate with a thin layer of molybdenum grease, such as MOLYKOTE BR 2.
11. Install the gearbox.
Attention! After installing the gearbox, the release bearing fork must not be lifted. Otherwise, hooks A (see illustration 3.9) slip out of the fork.
