Checking the condition of the drive shaft joints (Renault Symbol 1)

While driving at low speed with the steering wheel turned all the way to one side, listen to the sounds made by the joint. Clicking and cracking in the front suspension area indicate a malfunction (wear) of the outer joint.

A faulty inner joint will indicate damage by increasing vibration as you accelerate. Before these checks, be sure to ensure that the hub nuts are tightened to the specified torque.
