Pic. 3.106. Inertial fuel switch in the event of a vehicle collision (arrow)
Inertial switch (pic. 3.106) reacts to the impact of the car and opens the power supply circuit of the fuel pump. Upon impact, the ball of the inertial switch leaves the socket and opens the electrical circuit, the supply voltage «+» disconnected from the control circuit of the fuel pump relay and ceases to flow to the pump, injectors. Fuel supply from the tank stops.
To bring the inertial switch into working condition, it is enough to press it from above so that the ball enters the socket again.
Attention! After bringing the inertia switch into working condition, it is necessary to clear the computer memory using the diagnostic tool. When the switch is actuated, the injection ECU memorizes the failure of the fuel pump relay.
Attention! The upper and lower sensors have different characteristics and are not interchangeable.
