Attention! If the radio in your car is coded, make sure you know the code before disconnecting the battery.
Removing
All models except Scenic
1. The battery is located in the right rear of the engine compartment (refer to accompanying illustration).
2a. Loosen the fixing screws.
2b. Remove the air intake box grill on the right side. The inner end of the grate must be detached from the left grate (refer to illustrations).
3. Loosen the plastic terminal nut and disconnect the negative clamp from the battery.
4. Loosen the plastic terminal nut and disconnect the positive terminal wire (refer to accompanying illustration).
5a. Loosen the special bolt.
5b. Remove the battery retaining clip (refer to illustrations).
6. Remove the battery from the vehicle.
7. If necessary, remove the battery tray.
Scenic
1. The battery is located in a special compartment, under the right front seat.
2. Move the seat all the way back, then release the two levers on the tilted lock bar (refer to accompanying illustration).
3. Loosen the two nuts on the longitudinal adjustment rod and lift the rod up. Tilt the seat back to access the battery cover.
4. Turn the two cover connectors a quarter of a turn counterclockwise and remove the cover.
5. Loosen the nut and disconnect the negative mode from the battery.
6. Loosen the nut and disconnect the positive terminal wire.
7. Turn away two bolts and remove the fixing clip of the accumulator.
8. Remove the battery from the vehicle.
Installation
1. Install in reverse order, lubricate the terminals with petroleum jelly, and always connect the positive wire first and then the negative.
