Warning! If the radio in your car is coded, make sure you know the code before disconnecting the battery.
Removal
All models except Scenic

1. The battery is located in the right rear part of the engine compartment (refer to the accompanying illustration).

2a. Loosen the mounting screws.

2b. Remove the air intake box grille on the right side. The inner end of the grille must be disconnected from the left grille (refer to the illustrations).
3. Loosen the plastic terminal nut and disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

4. Loosen the plastic terminal nut and disconnect the positive terminal wire (refer to the accompanying illustration).

5a. Unscrew the special bolt.

5b. Remove the battery retaining clamp (refer to the illustrations).
6. Remove the battery from the vehicle.
7. If necessary, remove the battery tray.
Scenic
1. The battery is located in a special compartment under the right front seat.

2. Move the seat all the way back, then release the two levers on the tilted locking rod (refer to the accompanying illustration).
3. Loosen the two nuts on the longitudinal adjustment rod and lift the rod up. Tilt the seat back to gain access to the battery cover.
4. Turn the two cover connectors a quarter turn counterclockwise and remove the cover.
5. Loosen the nut and disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
6. Loosen the nut and disconnect the positive terminal wire.
7. Loosen the two bolts and remove the battery retaining clamp.
8. Remove the battery from the vehicle.
Installation
1. Install in reverse order, lubricate the terminals with Vaseline, and always connect the positive wire first, then the negative.
