Install the cylinder head.
Tighten the cylinder head bolts.
Refill hydraulic tappets as working fluid from the pushers may leak if they are not operated for a long time.
To make sure that refueling is necessary, press the top of the pusher 1 with your thumb.
If the pusher plunger is recessed:
- immerse the tappets in a container of diesel fuel;
- then install pushers.
Install:
- rocker arms.
- camshafts by lubricating the bearing journals with engine oil.
Turn the camshafts so that the grooves on their ends are horizontal and below the axes of the shafts.
Attention! Do not allow oil to get on the attached surfaces of the cover, cylinder head.
Apply LOCTITE 518 to the mating surface of the cylinder head cover with a paint roller until it turns reddish in color.
Use a piece of cloth to remove any LOCTITE 518 that has come into contact with the camshaft bearings in the cylinder head cover.
Remove the cylinder head cover.
Tightening procedure
Tighten in order to the correct torque:
- bolts 22, 23, 20, 13 of the cylinder head cover 80 Nm.
- bolts 1-12, 14-19, 21-24 for fastening the cylinder head cover 120 Nm.
Loosen bolts 22, 23, 20, 13 in the order shown. Tighten bolts 22, 23, 20, 13 of the cylinder head cover in the specified order to the required torque (120 Nm).
Install the oil separator. Tighten in the order shown in the figure to the required torque:
- new oil separator bolts (in non-threaded holes) (- 5 N·m);
- oil separator bolts (new or old) in pre-threaded holes (10 Nm).
Apply 2mm GFAISSE FLUOREE grease strips to all four ignition coils around the inside circumference of the high voltage wire cap.
Close the spark plugs.
Torque tighten (25-30 Nm) spark plugs with a set of spark plugs (Ele. 1382).
Install ignition coils Torque tighten:
- ignition coil bolts (in threaded holes) (12 Nm);
- ignition coil bolts (in unthreaded holes) (15 Nm).
Be sure to replace all intake manifold gaskets.
Torque tighten (9 Nm) intake manifold bolts.
Install:
- throttle body:
- air filter housing.
