Elements of the cooling system: 1 - expansion tank; 2 - housing for coolant; 3 - coolant temperature sensor; 4 - coolant temperature sensor for the gauge in the instrument cluster; 5 - water pump; 6 - thermostat; 7 - thermostat housing; 8 - Coolant/oil heat exchanger (without air conditioning system); 9 - radiator; 10 - condenser and tank for liquid refrigerant (only with air conditioning system); 11 - Electric fan
- Apart from replacing the coolant at the prescribed intervals, maintenance is limited to checking the coolant level in the expansion tank.
- Remove the cap from the expansion tank.
- Place a suitable container under the lower radiator tank hose connection.
- Disconnect the hose from the lower radiator tank and drain the coolant.
- Remove the plug on the cylinder block and drain the coolant.
- Unscrew the air bleed plugs on the radiator and the supply hoses to the heating system radiators (Fig. 3.76).
