13.1 Remove the wing nut to remove the filter element (1) on 4-cylinder engine, or filter cover (2) on V6 engine
The spent filter element can be removed after removing the filter cover, or after unscrewing the wing nut. Thoroughly clean the filter housing before installing a new element.
Use a damp cloth to clean the inside surface. It is very important that the connection between the cover and the housing is airtight.
Do not attempt to clean the filter element if it is time to replace it. If the element is clogged ahead of time, blow it with compressed air. In this way, small particles can be removed.
The process of completely removing the air filter is not very difficult (for example, depending on the model, you have to remove the generator), however, if you are not sure, mark all hoses and connections properly.
Tighten the hose clamps securely on V6 models to prevent air from entering.
