Replacing rubber bushings of upper suspension arms (Renault Espace I)

If you have a vice, the rubber bushings of the upper wishbones can be replaced. Press out the old bushing using a tube of the appropriate diameter. Bushings of different diameters were used in different years:
  • Before December 1987 - 26.0 mm
  • First generation since January 1988 - 34.5 mm
  • Other models - 35.0 mm

Press in the new bushing so that it protrudes the same amount "A" on each side of the control arm (see illustration):
  • Models before December 1987 - 6.0 mm
  • First generation since January 1988 - 7.5 mm
  • Other models - 7.5 mm
