Locking and unlocking doors from the outside
In some cases, the Renault card may not work if:
- the car is in a zone of strong electromagnetic interference;
- another radio device is operating on the frequency of the card (e.g. mobile phone);
- the battery of the Renault card is discharged, the battery is discharged, etc.
In this case, you can:
- open the front left door with the spare key (depending on the vehicle equipment, it is inserted into the card or located separately from it);
- lock each door manually;
- use the central locking button in the car (see section «Unlocking/locking the doors from the inside»).
Lift cover A of the front left door by inserting the tip of the spare key into recess 1.
Pic. 1.22. Using built-in spare key: 1 - notch; 2 - key; A - lid
Insert key 2 into the lock and lock or unlock the door (see fig. 1.22).
Locking the doors manually
Pic. 1.23. Stop screw: 1 - screw
With the door open, turn screw 1 (using a suitable tool, such as a flathead screwdriver) and close the door (pic. 1.23).
Now it is impossible to open the door from the outside.
It only opens from the inside.
Locking the doors from the inside
Pic. 1.24. Locking the doors from the inside: 1 - central lock switch
Central locking switch 1 allows simultaneous unlocking or locking of all side doors, tailgate and fuel filler cap (pic. 1.24).
If one of the opening elements of the body is open or not tightly closed (door or tailgate), there is a quick locking / unlocking of the opening elements.
When carrying objects with the bodywork open: With the engine stopped, hold down switch 1 for more than five seconds to lock the rest of the bodywork.
Control lamp of a condition of the opening elements of a body
When the ignition is switched on, the control lamp built into the switch reports the status of the opening elements of the body:
- the control lamp lights up if they are locked;
- the control lamp does not light up if they are not locked.
When the doors are locked, the warning light stays on for approximately one minute and then goes out.
Attention! When leaving the car, never leave the Renault card in the cabin.
Automatic locking of opening body elements while driving
Enabling the automatic locking function
Switch on the ignition, press and hold the central locking switch for about five seconds until you hear a double beep.
Deactivating the automatic locking function
With the ignition on, press and hold the central locking switch for about five seconds until you hear a single beep.
Operation of the automatic locking function
When the vehicle starts moving, the system automatically locks the opening elements of the body at a speed of 10 km/h.
The locks of the opening elements of the body are unlocked:
- when pressing the central locking switch;
- when stopped, if any door is opened.
Note. An unlocked door lock will automatically lock again when a speed of about 10 km/h is reached.
Malfunctions in work
When a malfunction is detected in the system (the door locks do not lock automatically, the control lamp of the switch does not light up when the doors are locked, etc.) check first of all whether all opening elements of the body are well closed. If they are closed tightly, contact a Renault service station.
