Speedometer

The device shows the speed of the vehicle.

Fig. 1.31. Speedometer

Fig. 1.31. Speedometer

Sound alarm for speeding

In some vehicle configurations, when the speed of 120 km/h is exceeded, an audible signal is emitted every 40 km/h lasting approximately 10 seconds.

Tachometer

The tachometer shows the engine crankshaft speed (rpm).

Caution! If the tachometer needle approaches the red zone of the scale, engage a higher gear. Exceeding the permissible crankshaft speed (when the tachometer needle is in the red zone) may cause engine failure.

Fuel level indicator in the tank

The device operates when the ignition is on and shows the approximate fuel level in the tank.

The indicator needle may fluctuate slightly during braking, cornering, acceleration of the vehicle, and also when driving uphill or downhill.

When the ignition is off, the indicator arrow is positioned at the minimum fuel reserve mark.

The low fuel indicator comes on when there is a small amount of fuel left in the tank.

Attention! Fill the tank at the first opportunity, without waiting for the pointer to drop to the bottom mark of the scale. The lower position of the pointer corresponds to the reserve fuel supply in the tank.

Minimum fuel level indicator light in the tank

It goes out a few seconds after the engine is started. If the indicator lamp lights up and does not go out, you need to immediately fill the tank with fuel.

Anti-lock braking system malfunction indicator light

Lights up when the engine starts and then goes out.

If the lamp lights up while the car is moving, this indicates a malfunction of the anti-lock braking system. In this case, braking will occur as in a car not equipped with an anti-lock braking system.

Airbag warning light

Lights up when the engine starts and goes out after a few seconds. If the indicator lamp does not light up when the ignition is turned on or lights up when the engine is running, this indicates a malfunction in the airbag system.

Emission Control System Warning Light

On vehicles equipped with this system, the indicator light comes on when the engine is started and then goes out.

If the lamp is constantly on, consult a Renault service station immediately.

If the light is flickering, reduce engine speed until the flickering stops.

Reset button

Display the relevant information on the display and press the reset button for the trip odometer, trip computer parameters, mileage until the next oil change, and to find out the current oil level.

Coolant temperature gauge

Under normal operating conditions, the pointer should not reach the red zone. Under difficult operating conditions, the pointer may move into this zone. Only the activation of the control lamp should cause an alarm simultaneously with the appearance of a message on the instrument panel and an audible signal.

Battery charge indicator light

The indicator lamp lights up when the engine starts and then goes out. If it lights up while driving at the same time as the indicator lamp and a beep sounds - this indicates an increased or decreased charging current. Stop and check the battery charging circuit.

Driver's seat belt warning light

The lamp lights up and remains on continuously after the engine starts, then, when the speed reaches approximately 10 km/h, if the driver's seat belt is not fastened, the lamp flashes for approximately 90 minutes and a sound signal is heard.

Parking brake and brake system malfunction indicator lamp

If the lamp lights up when braking at the same time as the control lamp and a sound signal is heard, which indicates a low brake fluid level or a malfunction of the brake system.

Low Engine Oil Pressure Warning Light

Lights up when the engine is started and goes out after a few seconds. If this lamp lights up while driving at the same time as the control lamp and a beep sounds, stop immediately and turn off the ignition. Check the oil level.

Passenger airbag is turned off ("OFF")

This indicator light comes on for a few seconds after the engine is started if the front passenger airbags (depending on the vehicle configuration) disabled.

Engine oil level

The readings are correct if the car is on a level surface and its engine has not been running for a long time.

Within approximately 30 seconds after engine start:
  • if the level is normal, the display shows the message "Oil level is normal".
  • when the minimum permissible oil level is reached, the message "Oil level is normal" is not displayed on the display, dashes and the message "Add oil" appear, and the service indicator light comes on .

Top up the oil to the normal level as quickly as possible.

On-board computer

After 30 seconds, the display readings change in accordance with the operating mode of the on-board computer.

Indicator lamp for opening body elements or multifunction display (depending on the vehicle configuration)

Indicator lamp for opening body elements. When the lamp comes on, it indicates that one of the side doors or the tailgate is open or not closed properly.

Multifunctional information display. Indicates that the opening element of the body (side door or tailgate) open or not closed tightly, as well as the air pressure values in the tires and the gear engaged (for cars with automatic transmission).

Emergency stop indicator light

This indicator lamp should go out after the engine has started. It comes on simultaneously with other indicator lamps and/or with the appearance of a message on the instrument cluster display and an audible signal.

When this warning light comes on, you should stop immediately (in accordance with the traffic situation).

Service Required Indicator Light

Lights up when the engine starts and goes out after a few seconds. It can be turned on simultaneously with other control lamps or with messages displayed on the instrument panel display.

If it lights up while driving, we recommend that you contact your nearest Renault service station.
