Automatic switching on of external lighting when the vehicle is parked (Renault Megane 2)

Depending on the modification, the cars are equipped with a system for automatically switching on low beam headlights (with the engine not running) to illuminate the space in front of the car.

This function is only performed when the ignition is off, the exterior lighting switch, turn signals and fog lights are in neutral position, the parking lights are off and for 30-second periods of time (no more than two minutes).

Turning on

The function is activated by the lever of the turn signal, exterior lighting and fog light switch:

• move the card in the reader to the 1st fixed position;
• briefly turn on the high beam headlights by moving the switch lever;
• the low beam headlights are switched on for 30 sec.

Note: Each time the high beam alarm is turned off, the low beam duration is increased by 30 s(in total no more than two minutes).

Note: This feature is disabled when the parking lights or ignition are turned on.
