General information
Speed control: allows you to maintain the speed selected by the driver. This function can be deactivated at any time by pressing the brake pedal, (manual transmission clutch) or one of the system buttons.
Speed Limit: Allows the driver to select a speed limit. When this speed is exceeded, moving the accelerator pedal does not increase the vehicle speed. The selected speed limit can be exceeded at any time by moving past the accelerator pedal resistance point.
A warning light on the instrument panel informs the driver of the status of the speed controller/limiter.
Lights up green: the controller is on.
Lights up yellow: the limiter is on.
Speed indicator flashes: set speed cannot be maintained (for example, on the descent).
To control these functions, the injection system ECU receives information via the contacts listed below.
- In C1: switching the speed limiter on and off.
- In L1: switching on/off the speed controller.
- A B2: "ground" of the steering wheel controls.
- A G1: Steering wheel control signal.
- In B2: input of the brake light switch when the contacts are opened.
- In B1: power supply for conductive track 1 of the accelerator pedal position sensor.
- In H1: power supply for conductive track 2 of the accelerator pedal position sensor.
- In K1: "ground" of conductive track 1 of the accelerator pedal position sensor.
- In AZ: "ground" of conductive track 2 of the accelerator pedal position sensor.
- In A1: signal from track 1 of the accelerator pedal position sensor.
- In A2: signal from track 2 of the accelerator pedal position sensor.
- In NZ: channel sap II of the multiplex network (UCHBS).
- In H4: CAN L channel of the multiplex network (UCH).
- A A2: CAN L channel of the multiplex network (UCH).
- A C2: channel can H of the multiplex network (UCHB).
The injection system ECU receives the following information via the multiplex network:
- vehicle speed (from ABS);
- brake light switch signal when contacts are closed (from ABS);
- information about the gear engaged (automatic transmission).
The injection ECU sends via the multiplex network:
- the value of the supported or maximum speed on the instrument panel;
- signal to turn on the signal lamp (yellow, green or flashing);
- gear shift information (depending on the model).
The injection system ECU receives:
- accelerator pedal position sensor information;
- information from the brake light switch;
- information from the clutch pedal switch;
- information from the on/off switch;
- information from the steering wheel controls;
- information from the ABS ECU;
- information from the automatic transmission control unit.
Based on the information received, the injection system ECU controls the throttle valve with servo drive so as to maintain the set speed during speed control and not to exceed the set speed during speed limitation.
Operation of speed controllers
Conditions of inclusion:
- switch to the "speed control" position;
- 2nd speed transmission;
- the speed of the car is 30 km/h;
- the regulator indicator light is on (in green);
- click on the "♦", "-" or "resume" button.
(Information is located on the website: «RENAULTBOOK»)
Shutdown conditions:
- sharp pressing of the accelerator pedal (does not turn off the function);
- pressing the brake or clutch pedal;
- pressing the "0" button;
- switch in the "off" position;
- gear not engaged;
- trajectory stabilization system activation;
- intervention of the injection system ECU.
Operation of the speed limiter
Conditions of inclusion:
- switch in the "speed limiter" position;
- 2nd speed transmission;
- the speed of the car is 30 km/h;
- the regulator indicator light is on (in yellow);
- click on the "+", "-" or "resume" button.
Shutdown conditions:
- pressing the accelerator pedal sharply, passing through the point of resistance (does not turn off the function);
- pressing the "O" button;
- switch in the "off" position;
- gear not engaged;
- activation of the trajectory stabilization system;
- intervention of the injection system ECU.
Flashing speed indicator informs the driver that the set speed cannot be maintained.
Backup mode
If one of the elements fails, the speed control/limiting system cannot be switched on.
