Remote control with hands-free system


To operate, the system uses:
  • RENAULT (A) "Hands-Free" Card;
  • reading device (B);
  • electronic control unit built into the central computer (C);
  • engine start button (D);
  • injection computer (E);
  • brake and clutch pedal sensors (F) and gearbox neutral position;
  • electric steering column lock (G);
  • presence sensors in the handle of each door (H);
  • red door closed indicator light;
  • car direction indicators;
  • two receiving antennas specifically for hands-free function (I);
  • door locks (J) specially for the additional locking function (J);
  • warning sound signal (K).

The RENAULT card with the hands-free function has three buttons:


  • close button (1). This button is used to lock the opening elements and disable the "hands-free" function;
  • opening button (2). This button is used to unlock the opening elements and disable the "hands-free" function;
  • locking button with hands-free system connection (3).

Note: This remote control can be used without the hands-free system after prohibiting this function with buttons (1) and (2). In this case, it functions as a normal remote control.


To lock the vehicle doors using the hands-free system (if the hands-free function is deactivated), press button (3).

After this, close the doors and| luggage compartment.

Hold the RENAULT card in your hand and move away from the car. When it leaves the central computer's coverage area (via radio antennas), the doors and luggage compartment will be locked. Locking the doors using the remote control may be accompanied by flashing hazard warning lights, an audible signal and the red indicator lamp coming on.

If one or more doors are not closed properly, the hazard warning lights will not operate when locked using the remote control.

Note: When you press the "close" or "open" button on the card, the "hands-free" function is deactivated. After this, the RENAULT card with the "hands-free" system functions as a "simple" RENAULT card. When you press the "AUTO" button on the RENAULT card, the system is reactivated after about 10 seconds.


Attention! Locking of the hands-free system can be disabled using diagnostic tools.


To unlock the vehicle doors using the hands-free system (if the hands-free control function is deactivated, press button (3).



Approach the car so that the RENAULT card is within the coverage area of the central computer. Take hold of the handle of one of the doors or open the luggage compartment.

Presence sensors located in the handles generate requests for the hands-free system.

If the card is accepted, the car is unlocked. This is accompanied by the flashing of the hazard warning lights.

The RENAULT three-button card (with hands-free function) is equipped with a battery. It is charged while the RENAULT card is in the reader. In twenty minutes of charging, the battery restores the daily energy consumption. A full charge can last up to twenty-four hours. This battery is non-removable.



The transponder and engine start blocking system integrated into the RENAULT card do not require any electricity consumption.

The activation of the direction indicators and side repeaters to control the opening and closing of the opening elements is carried out by the central computer.

To use this feature, the vehicle must be equipped with a power window with pulse control and a power sunroof with anti-clamp system.

Some right-hand drive vehicles may be equipped with the "driver's door only" function. This function allows you to unlock only the driver's door and the rear luggage compartment by briefly pressing the RENAULT card.
