Special tool required
- Mot. 1054 TDC locking device.
- Mot. 1273 Belt tension gauge.
- Mot. 1355 Mandrel for installing pump gasket.
- Mot. 1379 Device for fixing the engine on the subframe.
Tightening torques, Nm
- Crankshaft pulley mounting bolt: 20 + 90°.
- Bolts for fastening the front right pendulum suspension bracket to the engine: 62.
- Bolts for fastening the front right pendulum suspension bracket to the body: 62.
- Timing belt tension roller fastening nut: 50.
Removal
1. Remove:
- timing belt (see section "Gas distribution mechanism drive belt");
- oil level sensor using a special key for 19 mm round nuts;
- oil dipstick;
- crankshaft pulley and toothed pulley;
- flywheel protective cover.
2. Raise the power unit using tool Mot. 1379
3. Remove the oil pan mounting bolts.
4. Rotate the oil pan at the rear of the vehicle so that the oil pickup can be removed from the bulkhead in the oil pan.
5. Remove:
- oil receiver;
- oil pump.
Attention! The oil pump cannot be repaired.
6. Clean the mating surfaces, but do not use sharp-edged tools to clean the surfaces of the aluminum parts.
Installation
1. Always replace the oil feed channel gasket 3.
2. Apply a coat of Rhodorseal 5661 sealant to the mating surface.
Attention! The oil pump is driven by two cams located on the crankshaft.
3. Install:
- oil pump on the engine, tighten the mounting bolts with a torque of 9 Nm;
- install the new seal onto the crankshaft end, being careful not to damage it when passing the splined section for the crankshaft toothed pulley.
4. Press in the oil seal using tool Mot. 1355.
5. Install the oil receiver with a new sealing ring.
6. Clean the mating surfaces (cylinder block, oil pan).
7. Install the oil pan. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.
8. Install:
- timing belt (see section "Gas distribution mechanism drive belt");
- new alternator and power steering pump drive belts.
