Apply motor oil:
  • into the cylinders;
  • piston skirts;
  • on the connecting rod journals of the crankshaft.

Make sure the piston rings are properly seated in the piston grooves. Install the piston in the installation tool (with a piston skirt protrusion of approximately 1 cm). Compress the piston rings by tightening the screw (8).

Install the piston assembly with the connecting rod into the cylinder.

Note: Observe the selection of pistons by cylinders (cylinder No.1 is located on the timing drive side), as well as the position of the connecting rods with pistons (mark on piston (9) towards the timing drive side).

Install the lower connecting rod head onto the crankshaft journal.

Install the connecting rod caps, observing the correspondence between the cap and the connecting rod housing. Screw in the new connecting rod cap mounting bolts without tightening them.

Note: Make sure the connecting rod caps are seated on the connecting rod housing before tightening the bolts.

Tighten the connecting rod cap bolts to the specified torque (pre-tightening) 27 Nm.

Loosen the connecting rod cap bolts completely.

Tighten the connecting rod cover mounting bolts to the required torque and turn them to the specified angle 20 Nm + 60°. Check the rotation of the crank mechanism.

Perform the specified operations on the remaining cylinders.
