- into cylinders;
- piston skirts;
- on the connecting rod journals of the crankshaft.
Make sure the piston rings are properly seated in the piston grooves. Install the piston in the installer (with protrusion of the piston skirt by about 1 cm). Compress the piston rings by tightening the screw (8).
Install the piston and connecting rod assembly into the cylinder.
Note. Observe the selection of pistons by cylinders (cylinder No. 1 is located on the timing drive side), as well as the position of the connecting rods with pistons (the mark on the piston (9) towards the timing drive).
Install the bottom end of the connecting rod on the crankshaft journal.
Establish covers of rods, observing conformity a cover — the rod body. Wrap, without tightening, new bolts of fastening of covers of rods.
Note. Make sure the connecting rod caps rest on the connecting rod housing before tightening the bolts.
Torque tighten the connecting rod cap bolts (preload) 27 Nm.
Completely loosen the connecting rod cap bolts.
Tighten to the specified torque and tighten the connecting rod cap bolts 20 Nm + 60°to the specified angle. Check the rotation of the crank mechanism.
Perform the indicated operations on the remaining cylinders.
