Disassembly
Note. These steps need only be performed when replacing or inspecting a connecting rod or piston.
Mark the position of the piston relative to the cylinder with an indelible pencil.
Remove the retaining ring with pliers.
Heat up the piston (up to a temperature of 60-70°C) using an industrial hair dryer or a heating element with a power of 1500 watts. Press out the piston pin. Mark the piston pin in relation to the piston with an indelible pencil.
Perform the indicated operations on the remaining pistons.
Note. Bolts of fastening of covers of rods are subject to obligatory replacement.
To avoid destruction of the connecting rod, do not allow shocks and do not use the mating surfaces of the cover and the body of the connecting rod as a support. Clean the piston and connecting rod assembly with a cleaner.
Dry all parts with a pneumatic spray gun.
Assembly
When installing the piston pins, the mark (3) must be located on the same side of the piston and connecting rod head as before removing the pins.
Heat up the piston (up to temperature 60 - 70°С) to facilitate installation of the piston pin.
Install piston pin (4).
Make sure the piston pin rotates in the piston and the top end of the connecting rod.
Install retaining rings (5) using forceps.
