Note: These steps should only be performed when replacing or inspecting the connecting rod or piston.


Mark the position of the piston relative to the cylinder using a permanent pencil.

Remove the retaining ring using pliers.

Heat the piston crown (to 60-70°C) using an industrial hair dryer or a 1500W heating element. Press out the piston pin. Mark the piston pin in relation to the piston using a permanent pencil.

Perform the specified operations on the remaining pistons.

Note: Connecting rod cap mounting bolts must be replaced.


To avoid damaging the connecting rod, do not subject it to impacts or use the mating surfaces of the cap and connecting rod body as support. Clean the piston assembly with the connecting rod using a cleaner.



Dry all parts using a pneumatic spray gun.
