Remove:
- crankshaft main bearing cap fastening bolts;
- crankshaft main bearing caps.

Remove the crankshaft and thrust washers.

Note: Always mark the position of each crankshaft bearing shell according to the bearing number.
Remove the crankshaft main bearing shells.
Replace the crankshaft main bearing cap bolts.
Note.
Avoid impacting or using the following parts as support:
- working surfaces of the seal and bearing of the crankshaft or cylinder block;
- working surfaces of crankshaft bearing caps.
Using a surface cleaner, clean:
- crankshaft;
- crankshaft main bearing caps;
- working surfaces of the crankshaft main bearing shells on the cylinder block;
- working surfaces of the crankshaft bearing caps on the cylinder block.
Dry the parts using an air-powered spray gun.
When replacing the crankshaft or crankshaft bearing shells, it is always necessary to determine the thickness class of the shells installed on each bearing. Replacement must be performed in such a way that the clearances of the crankshaft main journals do not exceed the permissible value. This check must be performed before installing the crankshaft.
Note: Crankshaft journal clearances that exceed the specified limits may cause engine damage.
Install the thrust half rings (3) with the grooves facing the crankshaft cheeks.
Install:
- crankshaft main bearing shells (4) on the cylinder block so that the lubrication holes (6) exactly coincide with the lubrication holes in the cylinder block beds;
- bearing shells (5) of crankshaft main bearing caps;
- main bearing caps with the arrow pointing towards the timing drive.

Make sure that the clearance (A) between the bearing shells is less than 0.85 mm. Remove the crankshaft main bearings with the shells correctly installed.
Lubricate the crankshaft main bearing shells with engine oil (only the sides facing the shaft journals).

Install the crankshaft.
Install:
- main bearing caps with arrow pointing towards timing drive;
- new crankshaft main bearing cap mounting bolts.

Tighten the crankshaft main bearing cap bolts in the specified order to the required torque and tighten to the required angle 34 Nm + 60°.
Make sure the crankshaft rotates freely without binding.

Install the connecting rods onto the crankshaft journals.
Install the connecting rod caps, observing their selection and new connecting rod bearing cap mounting bolts.
