Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal.
Loosen the nut (9) fixing the positive terminal of the generator.
Disconnect the wiring harness (10) from the generator.
Set aside the alternator wiring harness.
Remove:
- alternator bracket nut (11) from the cylinder block;
- alternator bracket bolt (12);
- generator bracket.
Loosen the top alternator mounting bolt (15).
Loosen but do not remove the alternator mounting bolt (16).
Move the generator away from the multi-function bracket using a screwdriver.
Remove the generator.
Attention. Do not press on the air conditioning hose, as this may cause refrigerant to leak.
Note. To facilitate the removal of the generator, move the radiator assembly with the condenser forward a little (take precautions not to damage the condenser piping).
Insert bushings (1) with tongs or a vise to facilitate installation.
Attention. When replacing the alternator belt, be sure to replace the tension and bypass rollers.
Install the generator.
Torque tighten (25 Nm) mounting bolts.
Torque tighten the positive terminal nut of the alternator 21 Nm.
Replace the accessory drive belt.
Tension the accessory drive belt.
The rest of the equipment is installed in the reverse order of removal.
Attach the wires to the battery terminals, starting with the positive terminal.
