Engine K4M



Place the car on a lift.

Disconnect the battery. Remove the top engine cover.

Loosen the clamp securing the intake air duct to the throttle body.

Disconnect the air outlet duct from the air filter housing.

Remove:
  • air duct at the outlet of the air filter housing;
  • lifting eye on the gearbox side (1);
  • engine sump guard mounting bolts;
  • protection of the engine oil pan.

Disconnect the oil level sensor connector (2).

Remove the wiring harness from the oil level sensor.

Remove the wiring harness from the oil level sensor.
Remove the wiring harness from the oil level sensor.

Remove:
  • the fastening nut (3) of the exhaust manifold bracket;
  • bolt (4) securing the exhaust manifold bracket to the cylinder block;
  • exhaust manifold bracket.

Remove:
  • fastening nut (5) of the starter power wire;
  • the fastening nut (6) of the starter excitation circuit wire.

Move the starter wiring to the side.

Loosen the starter mounting bolts (7) and remove the starter.

Loosen the starter mounting bolts (7) and remove the starter.


Check for the presence of the mounting sleeve.

Install the starter.

Reinstall the starter wiring.

Tighten to the specified torque:
  • starter power cable fastening nut 8 Nm;
  • starter excitation circuit wire fastening nut 5 Nm.

Install the exhaust manifold bracket.

Tighten the exhaust manifold bracket nut and bolt to the specified torque 44 Nm.

Tighten the intake air duct clamp to the throttle body to the specified torque of 6 Nm.

M4R Engine



Place the vehicle on a lift. Disconnect the battery. Remove the engine oil pan guard and intake manifold.

Disconnect:
  • wiring harness (1) from the oil pressure sensor;
  • oil pressure sensor connector (2).

Remove:
  • starter power circuit connector fastening nut (3);
  • starter excitation circuit connector fastening nut (4).

Remove:
  • mounting bolts (5) from the wiring harness holder (6);
  • wire harness holder.

Move the starter wiring harness to the side.



Remove the mounting bolts (7) and the starter.

Install the starter and tighten the starter mounting bolts to the specified torque of 62 Nm.

Install the starter and tighten the starter mounting bolts to the specified torque of 62 Nm.
Install the starter and tighten the starter mounting bolts to the specified torque of 62 Nm.

Install the starter and tighten the starter mounting bolts to the specified torque of 62 Nm.


Install the wire harness holder.

Tighten to the specified torque:
  • starter excitation winding connector fastening nut 5 Nm;
  • starter power connector fastening nut 9 Nm.
