To check the brake fluid level indicator, you need to periodically press on the small corrugated rubber boot on the brake reservoir cap (shown by arrow). An assistant inside the cabin should monitor if the indicator is working. The parking brake lever must be released.
This indicator indicates a decrease in the brake fluid level. To do this, the lid of the brake fluid reservoir is equipped with a float and a contact switch. In addition, there is a contact switch in the parking brake lever that lights up a red indicator when the parking brake lever is pulled.
Possible malfunctions
- If the indicator does not light, then the lamp may be defective.
- If the indicator does not go out, then first you need to check the level of brake fluid in the tank. If everything is in order there, check if the released parking brake lever presses down the pin of the contact switch, if not, the contact switch should be replaced.
