Types of tire wear
- Front tires that are worn on the outside are not unusual on the Renault 19. The reason for this is the increased stress on this area of the running surface when cornering.
- A tread worn on one side indicates incorrect camber adjustment; especially if only one tire is worn out this way.
- Strong wear in the center of the tread is formed if you often drive at high speed, while the working surface is stretched by centrifugal force. This effect is especially pronounced on the rear wheels. It also indicates that the air pressure in the tires is too high.
- If both outer edges of the tire have worn more than the center, then you have been driving with too low tire pressure for a long time.
- Evenly worn areas of the tread indicate a damaged shock absorber.
- If uneven wear appears only in some places, then the wheel is out of balance or the tire carcass is damaged.
- A separate place with heavy wear on the tread appears from braking with a locked wheel.
