Generator pulley (K9K engine) (Renault Duster 1)

Tightening torques: Generator pulley mounting nuts - 80 Nm.

Removal

Disconnect the battery.

Remove:

• accessory drive belt,
• generator.

Disconnect the generator pulley guard (if installed).

Secure the generator in a vice with soft jaws.



Install:

• spline head (4) of the device into the pulley with a freewheel clutch (5).
• the nozzle assembly with the adapter (6) of the device on the generator shaft.

Secure the slotted head (4).



Unscrew the generator shaft.

Note: Do not use a screwdriver to remove or install the pulley. Damage to the front bearing may cause the generator to fail.

Remove the pulley with the freewheel clutch.

Installation

Install the pulley onto the generator shaft



Install:

• spline head (4) of the device into the pulley with a freewheel clutch (5),
• the nozzle assembly with the adapter (6) of the device on the generator shaft.

Secure the slotted head (4).



Tighten the alternator pulley mounting nuts to the required torque (80 Nm).

Turn the pulley by hand to check that the rotor rotates easily.

Secure the alternator pulley guard (if it is installed).

Install:

• generator,
• accessory drive belt.

Connect the battery.
