Tightening torques: Expansion tank nuts - 8 Nm.

Removal



Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.

Remove:
  • top engine cover,
  • engine oil pan protection mounting bolts,
  • engine oil pan protection,
  • air filter housing, expansion tank mounting nuts.

Move the expansion tank to the side.

Disconnect:
  • pipeline (1) from the vacuum pump,
  • air duct between the air cooler and the EGR unit at point (2).

Models with K9K engine, version 796



Disconnect the EGR solenoid valve line at point (3).

Disconnect:
  • the cooling system pipeline of the electromagnetic valve of the exhaust gas recirculation at point (4),
  • breather from the gearbox at point (5).

All models



Move aside the air duct between the air cooler and the EGR unit.



Disconnect the wiring harness (6) from the coolant temperature sensor.

Remove:
  • holder (7) of the coolant temperature sensor,
  • coolant temperature sensor,
  • coolant temperature sensor sealing ring.

Installation



Parts that must be replaced: coolant temperature sensor sealing gasket.

Clean and degrease with surface cleaner:
  • the seating surface of the coolant temperature sensor in case of reuse,
  • thermostat housing.

Install:
  • new coolant temperature sensor gasket to the coolant temperature sensor,
  • coolant temperature sensor,
  • coolant temperature sensor holder.

Connect the coolant temperature sensor connector.

Install the air duct between the air cooler and the EGR unit.

Attach:
  • air duct on the exhaust gas recirculation unit,
  • vacuum pump nipple.

Models with K9K engine, version 796



Connect the EGR valve line to the vacuum pump.



Snap:
  • transmission atmosphere communication tube,
  • eGR solenoid valve pipelines.

All models



Install the expansion tank.

Tighten the expansion tank nuts to the specified torque (8 Nm).

Install:
  • air filter housing,
  • engine oil pan protection,
  • engine oil pan protection mounting bolts,
  • top engine cover.

Perform:
  • bring the coolant level up to normal,
  • remove air from the engine cooling system.
