On these vehicles, to replace the solenoid valve and its coded chip A, the high pressure fuel pump must be removed.
Removing
1. Place the pump on a workbench and remove the protective bracket B.
2. The bracket is secured with shear bolts, which can be removed as follows:
- using a small chisel or center punch, hit the tapered heads of bolts C D and E several times to loosen the bolts;
- bolt E with tool Mot. 1372, drill a hole with a 4 mm diameter drill to a depth of approximately 4 mm, substituting a bushing 2 with a larger diameter from the side of the bracket.
3. Remove the bolt using puller 3 and its handle.
Installation
1. Tighten the coded solenoid valve to 20 Nm.
2. Install the heat shrink sleeve on the shut-off solenoid valve, ensuring that the wiring harness is routed through.
3. Install the protective bracket using the sheared bolts, observing the order of their installation, as well as the order of installation of the connecting parts (depending on the type of assembly).
Attention! Using a torque wrench, tighten the bolts to the specified torque, then break off the bolt heads by bending them with a tube placed over the bolt head.
Bolt installation order:
- D: 5 x 25 mm; tightening torque 5.5 Nm;
- C and F: 6 x 40 mm; tightening torque 12 Nm;
- E: 5 x 33 mm; tightening torque 5.5 Nm.
4. Reinstall the fast idle air cable and tighten the cable clamp until there is a 2 mm gap.
5. Install the injection pump on the engine.
