Special tools and equipment required
- Mot. 1199-01 Exhaust pipe cutting tool.
- Mot. 1265, Mot. 1265-01 Pliers for removing quick-release couplings.
- Pneumatic fuel transfer pump INTAIRCO.
Fuel drain
Due to the lack of an electric fuel pump on diesel vehicles, an external pump must be used to drain the fuel from the tank.
For example, use a pneumatic pump from INTAIRCO.
1. Remove the steel plug that closes access to the pump-fuel level sensor unit.
2. Remove the connection lock (if it exists).
3. Disconnect quick coupling 1 using pliers Mot. 1265.
4. Connect the rubber hose of the pump to the outlet fitting A.
5. Drain the fuel from the tank.

Communication between the fuel tank and the atmosphere is provided through a channel in the upper part of the fuel intake, combined with a fuel level sensor.
Valve functions
29. A valve that prevents the creation of high pressure and vacuum.
In the event of a blockage in the fuel vapor recovery circuit, this valve prevents the creation of increased pressure in the tank (which can cause the tank to bulge) or rarefaction (when fuel is consumed, which may result in compression of the tank).

Diesel vehicles do not have a submersible fuel pump, only a fuel level sensor.
