Special tool required

  • Mot. 997-01 Injector removal tool.
  • Mot. 1140 Device for removing the altitude corrector.

Tightening torques, Nm

  • Altitude corrector: 30.

1 - Plug.

1 - Plug.

The corrector regulates the pump performance depending on the altitude above sea level; if the car is driven at an altitude equal to or greater than 1000 meters, the computer reduces the performance by 3 mm/cycle. It restores normal performance when the altitude at which the car is driven is less than 900 meters.

Removal

1. Remove the high pressure line.

2. Remove the injector (cylinder no. 3) with the built-in needle lift sensor using tool Mot. 997-01.

3. Disconnect the fuel injection pump connector.

4. Disconnect the altitude corrector wire tips from the 10-pin pump connector.

5. To disconnect the tips from the pump connector:
  • pull the yellow plug 2 towards you to release it from the connectors, then press the two latches located on both sides of the connector 1;
  • remove the yellow guide plug;
  • pull the conductor to be removed;
  • the tip is secured in a connector with latches located on both sides; use a screwdriver to push one latch (the taut wire prevents the latch from returning to its place);
  • press the other latch with a screwdriver;
  • remove the tip from the connector.

6. Remove the protective cover covering the altitude corrector.

7. Remove the protective cover from the solenoid valve.

8. Remove the altitude corrector 1 using tool Mot. 1440.

Installation

1. Be sure to remove the small mesh filter installed at the bottom of the channel. Use fine-nosed tweezers to do this; replace the filter with a new one.

2. Tighten the height corrector 1 to a torque of 30 Nm using the Mot. 1440 mandrel.

3. Place the new protective cover on the altitude corrector.

4. Connect the two tips to the connector.

5. Connect the connector.

6. Install the harness protective cover and its retaining ring in place.

7. Bleed the diesel fuel supply circuit using the booster pump before starting the engine.

Important! Be sure to clear the fault information from the computer memory by typing the "GO**" command on the RX25 diagnostic tool.

8. After completing the operation, do not forget to test the car.
