The use of an electronic injection system on diesel engines has made it possible to optimize their operation and reduce the level of harmful substances in exhaust gases.

The system consists of a computer that receives information:
  • from coolant temperature sensor;
  • from the air temperature sensor;
  • from the engine crankshaft speed sensor;
  • from the vehicle speed sensor;
  • from load potentiometer;
  • from the injection start sensor, the sensor is part of the injector of cylinder No.3 (injector with built-in sensor).

The computer controls:
  • high pressure fuel pump;
  • altitude corrector (F8Q 630) via relay;
  • electromagnetic injection advance valve;
  • cold engine starting system (pre-heating plugs and pre-heating and post-heating device);
  • exhaust gas recirculation system;
  • injection system failure warning light;
  • preheating system warning light;
  • electromagnetic valve for controlling the pneumatic drive of accelerated idle speed;
  • electric Power Steering Pump Relay (if there is one), power is supplied to the electric pump as soon as the engine crankshaft speed exceeds 650 rpm.

The computer also performs self-diagnostics, the results of which can be viewed using the XR25 portable device.

Note

The following can be replaced in the high pressure fuel pump:
  • load potentiometer;
  • injection advance solenoid valve;
  • altitude corrector;
  • shut-off electromagnetic valve.
