Special tools and equipment required
- Mot. 1202 Clamp pliers.
- Device for supporting the engine.
Tightening torques, Nm
- Water pump mounting bolt.
- Water pump pulley bolt.
- Crankshaft pulley mounting bolt: 20 + 115 ±15°.
Removal
1. Place the vehicle on a two-post lift.
2. Disconnect the battery.
3. Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system by disconnecting the drain hose in the radiator.
4. Install the engine support device.
5. Remove:
- plastic cover of the engine pendulum mount bracket;
- upper engine mount bracket.

6. Remove:
- front right mudguard;
- accessory drive belt;
- crankshaft pulley A;
- water pump drive pulley B, lowering the engine as much as possible;
- fuel injection pump cover C;
- bolt 1 and move the generator to the right.

7. Remove the water pump mounting bolts and remove it from above.

Cleaning
Caution! Do not clean the mating surfaces of aluminum parts with a tool with a sharp edge. Use Decapjoint to dissolve stuck residues of the fitting.
Apply the composition to the surface to be cleaned. Wait for about ten minutes, then remove the remaining adhering gasket with a wooden spatula. It is recommended to wear gloves when performing this operation.
Installation
1. Install in the reverse order of removal.
2. Install the accessory drive belt (see "Maintenance").
3. Fill the engine cooling system with fluid and remove air from it (see "Maintenance").
