Required special tool
- Mot. 1366-01 Tool for replacing valve lifters (from set Mot. 1366).
Tightening torques, Nm
- Manifold mounting studs on cylinder head: 10.
- Nut of a hairpin of fastening of collectors on a head of the block of the cylinder.
- Intake manifold bracket bolt: 25.
- Bolt of fastening of an arm to the block of cylinders: 25.
1. Install the car two post lift
2. Disconnect the battery.
Checking clearances in the valve drive mechanism
3. Remove the air filter as well as the cylinder head cover.
4. Set the valves of the cylinder to be tested to position «end of exhaust stroke - start of intake stroke» and check the clearance between the camshaft knuckles and shims.
5. Compare both obtained values with the nominal value, replace the corresponding shims.
Adjustment values of clearances on a cold engine, mm:
- intake valves: 0.20;
- exhaust valves: 0.40.
Replacing shims
6. Remove the intake and exhaust manifolds.
7. Set the valve to be tested in the fully open position by turning the crankshaft in the direction of rotation).
8. Insert tool Mot. 1366-01 into the port of the valve under test.
9.1. for intake valves.
Rotate the crankshaft in rotation control until the valve rests against tool Mot. 1366-01 (rotation of the camshaft by 90°from the fully open position).
9.2. for exhaust valves.
Attention! Turn the crankshaft only in the direction opposite to the working direction of rotation (to prevent engine seizure), until the valve rests against tool Mot. 1366-01 (rotation of the camshaft by 90°from the fully open position).
10. Remove the adjusting dial with a screwdriver and a magnetic bar.
Attention! When installing the shim, remove the oil accumulated at the bottom of tappet bore C.
11. Install in reverse order of removal.
