Note. When repairing, use personal protective equipment (gloves, goggles and respirators).
Wear non-electrifying clothing when performing repairs on SMC composite materials.
Remove the part to be repaired to make sure that the elements located at the edges are not damaged.
Limit the speed when sanding to prevent overheating of plastic materials and to prevent contamination. Do not perform any repair work on the safety system components or areas of energy absorbing blocks, diffusers and components listed in the vehicle repair manual as beyond repair.
Only breaks and breaks not exceeding 100 mm in length and not located in the zone of energy-absorbing blocks of bumpers and elements of the security system are subject to repair.
The diameter of the holes should not exceed 50 mm and the holes should be located outside the zone of energy-absorbing bumper blocks and system elements without danger.
In all cases, the area of the repaired surface should not exceed 20 cm2.
When using the gluing method
Too thick a layer of primer will result in loss of adhesion when bonding the material.
Do not speed up the drying of the primer with an infrared lamp. Observe the time required for the primer to dry (see manufacturer's instructions).
Apply resin in a domed shape to avoid damaging the bracket.
Attention. Do not repair material «Noryl», since the composition of the material includes recycled substances that are incompatible with the two-component repair mastic.
When using welding
Note. Repair of the welded joint of the shares is carried out only on the removed component.
Repair techniques vary depending on the type of plastic used.
materials «ABS» and polycarbonate are only used to repair chips.
materials «Noryl» used to repair holes.
Do not weld on composite materials.
Do not melt remanufactured plastic to make repairs.
Do not use fasteners not included in the kit to avoid oxidation. Preheat and melt the electrode to half its thickness before it comes into contact with the bracket. This action activates the binding agents in the electrode.
