Note: Fill the automatic transmission with ELF RENAULTMATIC D3 SYN working fluid.
You will need: an 8 mm Allen key, a funnel, and a container with a capacity of at least 1 liter for draining the working fluid.
1. Warm up the working fluid in the gearbox to an operating temperature of 60°C by making a short trip.
2. Place the vehicle on a level horizontal surface, move the selector lever to the "P" position and apply the parking brake.
3. Unscrew the drain plug A and tube B using an 8 mm Allen key, drain the liquid into a suitable container.
4. Tighten the new drain pipe to 9 Nm and the plug to 35 Nm.
5. Disconnect the selector drive cable from the gearbox.
6. Remove the filler cap.
7. Fill the automatic transmission with 3.5 liters of new oil recommended by the manufacturer.
Note: To prevent dirt from getting into the gearbox, use a funnel with a filter with a mesh size of no more than 15/100.
8. Let the engine idle and warm up the fluid in the gearbox to an operating temperature of 60°C.
9. Place a container underneath and, with the engine running, unscrew the plug.
10. If the oil does not flow out or the volume of drained oil is less than 0.1 l, do the following:
- stop the engine and tighten the cap;
- add 0.5 liters of oil;
- allow the gearbox to cool down to 50°C;
- let the engine idle;
- wait until the temperature rises to (60±1)°C;
- place a container under the cork;
- unscrew the drain plug.
11. Repeat these operations until more than 0.1 l of oil has drained into the container.
12. Replace the filler and drain plugs and install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
