Description
The rear side airbag module 1 is installed under the trim at the level of the rear seat cushion.
The module includes:
- inflatable chamber in the form of a curtain;
- non-detachable pyrotechnic gas generator with igniter.

When deployed, the airbag tears off the module cover.
Note: This system is activated when the ignition is turned on.
Removal the module
Attention! It is prohibited to carry out any work with pyrotechnic systems (seat belt pretensioners or air bags) near a heat source or open flame, as there is a risk of them being triggered.
Before carrying out work or removing the rear side airbag, lock the ECU using a diagnostic tool. This will lock all ignition circuits and illuminate the airbag warning lamp on the instrument panel (with ignition on).
Fold the rear seat back and release the trim fastening clips.
Disconnect the connector and release the airbag module wires, including the ground wire.
Remove the airbag from its mount.

Installing the module
Secure the airbag module (tightening torque: 8 Nm).
Make sure the ground wire is properly connected to the air bag module.
Lay the wires, paying attention to the correct laying and attachment points, and connect the ground wire E. Check the reliability of the connector fixation.

Perform a check with a diagnostic tool. If all characteristics are within normal limits, unlock the ECU.
Attention! The slightest deviation from these rules may lead to failure of the pyrotechnic systems or their spontaneous activation.
