Removal
- Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
- Remove the rear window wiper.
- To access the trim screws, remove the fog lamp covers
- Remove the screws securing the tailgate trim.
- Remove the soundproofing film.
- Remove the windshield wiper mechanism.
- Disconnect all electrical connectors from the tailgate and remove the fluid supply tube to the windshield washer.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the third brake light.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear window defroster.
- Attach a thin cord 60 mm long to the glass heater wire and a cord 2 m long to the fluid supply tube to the windshield washer.
- Remove the two rubber seals from the tailgate.
- Using the cords, pull the heater wire and the windshield washer fluid supply tube out of the tailgate, then unfasten the cord and leave it in the door.
- Remove the seal attached to the roof of the car.
- Moving to the rear of the car, remove the decorative clip trims
- Unlock and remove the door support struts in the open position.
- Close the tailgate.
- Remove two bolts securing each door hinge.
- Open and remove the tailgate from the vehicle.
Installation
- Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
- Adjusting the tailgate gaps
- Install the tailgate on the vehicle, place two feeler gauges under each hinge, bolt the hinges, and close the door.
- Check the gaps between the door and roof. The door should be located 1.2-4 mm below the roof, otherwise place shims of appropriate thickness under the hinges.
- Check the gaps between the door and the wings, which should be 5±1 mm and, if necessary, adjust them by turning or turning the locking pins.
