Lift the rear seat cushion and remove the plastic access cover to the fuel pump and level sensor assembly.

Disconnect quick-release coupling 1 and connect a hose to outlet C that is long enough to lower its end into a container outside the vehicle.

Note: INTERCO air-powered transfer pump can also be used.

In the engine compartment, remove the fuel pump relay, installed in the junction box in the engine compartment (Relay A for K4, F4 and F5 engines. Relay B for L7 engine).

Connect contacts 3 and 5 with a jumper and drain the gasoline until it starts to flow out intermittently.

Remove the jumper Replace the relay Disconnect the battery.
