Wheel disks
There are two ways to mark wheels:
- stamping markings on the steel rim;
- casting markings on the aluminum rim.
Using the marking, you can determine the main dimensions of the wheel. This designation can be complete, for example: 51/2J 14 4CH36, or simplified, for example: 51/2J 14.
Holes for mounting bolts have the following dimensions:
- four mounting bolts: 100 mm
- five mounting bolts: 108 mm
The maximum allowable end runout is measured along the rim flange (at point G). It varies depending on the type of rim.
Tire identification
The identification marking can be of two types for the same type of tire.
Tire marking decoding
On vehicles equipped with automatic transmission, the pressure in the front wheels must be increased by 0.1 bar.
Air pressure should be checked with a cold tire. An increase in temperature during driving leads to an increase in pressure of 0.2 to 0.3 bar.
When checking hot pressure, this pressure increase must be taken into account and the tires should never be deflated.
Terms of use of chains, see vehicle operation manual.
