Required special tool
- Emb. 880 Inertial puller.
Tightening torques, Nm
- Bolt of fastening of the top support of the shock-absorber 115.
- Bolt of fastening of the bottom support of the shock-absorber 85.
Removing
1. With the vehicle raised so that its wheels hang freely, remove the faulty shock absorber.
2. Remove the torsion bar from the side of the faulty shock absorber using the Emb.880 puller.
Installation
1. Make a tool for the location of the suspension arms so that the torsion bar can be installed correctly.
A - Nut, diameter 14 mm.
B - Nut, diameter 12 mm.
C- Threaded rod, diameter 12 mm, length 660 mm.
D - Sheet steel bracket, length 30 mm, width 5 mm.
E - Bolt, diameter 12 mm, length 60 mm, length of the threaded part - 20 mm.
F - Weld.
2. Pre-adjust the jig to dimension X = 402 mm.
3. Install the tool in place of the shock absorber.
4. Lubricate the splines of the torsion bar with MOLYKOTE BR2, install the torsion bar into the support inside the beam rod and on the beam rod support bracket.
5. Rotate the threaded rod of the fixture to find a position where the torsion bar easily enters the slots: both on the supports inside the beam rod and on the beam rod support bracket.
6. Remove the fixture and install the shock absorber.
7. Put the car on wheels and measure the position of the control points of the lower part of the body (see point 6.1).
8. Check and adjust if necessary:
- brake force regulator (see chapter «Maintenance»);
- headlights.
