Towable trailer weight (towing a caravan, boat, etc.)
Towing is prohibited if the mass of the vehicle with a trailer is equal to the maximum permitted mass of the vehicle with a load.
- It is necessary to strictly observe the permissible mass of the towed trailer, which is regulated by local legislation and, in particular, traffic regulations. For questions about adjusting the towing hitch, contact the service station.
- When towing, the maximum permitted weight must not be exceeded (car and towed trailer). However, the following is permitted:
- exceeding the maximum permitted load on the rear wheels by a maximum of 15%,
- exceeding the maximum permitted weight of a vehicle with a load by a maximum of 10%, but not more than 100 kg.
- In both cases, the maximum speed of the vehicle with a trailer must not exceed 100 km/h, and the air pressure in the tires must be increased by 0.2 bar (3 PSI).
- Engine power and climbing ability are reduced at high altitudes, we recommend reducing maximum load by 10% per 1000 m of ascent and then by an additional 10% for every 1000 m of ascent.
