Removing
Place the car on a two post lift.
Drain the refrigerant circuit using the refrigerant filling station.
Disconnect the battery.
Remove:
- front bumper,
- right front wheel
- accessory drive belt.
Models with K4M engine
Remove:
- pipeline holder mounting bolt (1) on the compressor
- pipe union bolts (2) on the compressor.
Models with K9K engine
Remove:
- bolt (3) fixing the pipeline holder on the compressor,
- pipe union bolts (4) on the compressor.
All models
Attention! To avoid refrigerant leakage, do not damage (do not deform, bend, etc.) pipeline.
Disconnect the compressor lines.
Plug the openings in the pipelines.
Models with K4M engine
Disconnect connector (5) compressor.
Remove:
- fastening bolts (6) compressor,
- compressor.
Models with K9K engine
Disconnect connector (7) compressor.
Remove:
- fastening bolts (8) compressor,
- compressor.
Installation
Attention! Remove the plugs immediately before installing the part in place.
Remove parts from packaging only immediately before installing them.
Check and, if necessary, replace the refrigerant line gaskets.
Clean the surface and piping with an engine cleaner.
Use an air gun to blow out the surface and seal of the connecting pipe.
Lubricate the surface of the connecting pipe and the gasket with oil suitable for the air conditioning system.
Remove plugs.
Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
Torque tighten:
- compressor bolts (21 Nm),
- pipe union bolts (8 Nm).
Models with K4M engine
Torque tighten the pipe fitting bolt on the compressor (21 Nm).
All models
Before charging the refrigeration circuit, find out the prescribed quantities of refrigerant and oil.
Charge the refrigeration circuit with refrigerant using the refrigerant filling station.
Check the operation of the air conditioning system.
Check for leaks.
