Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. To access the cable on the clutch housing, remove the air filter or air intake duct (depending on the model, see Section 4).
3. Disconnect the cable from the clutch release fork, then remove the cable housing from the bracket on the clutch housing (see illustrations).
2.3a. Disconnect the cable from the clutch release fork.
2.3b. Remove the cable housing from the bracket on the clutch housing.

4. Working inside the vehicle, remove the lower part of the dashboard. Press the clutch pedal all the way down. Release the pedal and release the end of the cable from the toothed segment of the automatic regulator (see illustrations).
2.4a. Disconnect the end of the cable from the toothed segment.
2.4b. Location of the cable on the toothed segment of the regulator: 1 - Dentate segment; 2 - Guide.
5. Use a screwdriver to knock the cable guide out of the top end of the pedal.
6. Release the cable and push its housing out of the bulkhead.
7. Route the cable through the bulkhead into the engine compartment, separate it from the brackets and remove it from the vehicle.
Installation
8. To install the cable, push it through the partition into the passenger compartment, route it along the regulator cam and connect the end of the cable to the toothed segment. Make sure the governor cam support arms return freely to their original position under spring tension.
9. Install the cable guide into the top end of the pedal.
10. Working in the engine compartment, pass the other end of the cable through the clutch housing bracket and attach it to the clutch release fork. Secure the cable with staples.
11. Press the clutch pedal to retract the cable housing into the hole in the bulkhead. At the same time, the cable guide will be automatically inserted into the upper end of the pedal.
12. Press the clutch pedal several times to allow the automatic adjuster to set the correct clearance.
13. When the regulator is functioning correctly, the cable will have some slack (minimum 20 mm). To check this, pull the cable near the clutch release fork as shown (see illustration).
2.13. Check the slack at the end of the cable facing the clutch release fork.
If the cable slack is less than it should be, check to see if the adjuster toothed segment is jammed.
14. Press the clutch pedal all the way down and make sure that the full stroke of the upper part of the clutch release fork is 17-18 mm (see illustration).
2.14. Check the clutch release fork travel (X); The value of X is given in the text.
If this is not the case, check that the toothed segment and support arms rotate freely on their pivot parts and that the spring is not weakened. If necessary, check the free length of the spring by removing it and comparing it to the new component. Also make sure that the cable does not get caught in the housing.
15. Once finished, install the lower part of the instrument panel.
