Warning: Do not disconnect any air conditioning system components until the system is discharged. See precautions given at the end Chapter 15.
1. This chapter describes actions that can be performed without depressurizing the system. For other problems, it is recommended to contact a specialist.
2. If necessary, the compressor can be unfastened and moved to the side without disconnecting its hoses. To do this, you must first remove the drive belt.

Removal
4. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then remove the wiper arms and windshield fairing (Section 11).
5. Remove the two screws, disconnect the multi-pin connector and remove the control unit (see illustration).

Installation
6. Install in reverse order.
Evaporator temperature sensor
Removal
7. Disconnect the negative battery cable, then remove the wiper arms and windshield fairing (Section 11).
8. Remove the sensor from its sealing ring (see illustration).

If a new sensor is installed, cut the wires approximately 15 cm from the sensor.
Installation
9. If a new sensor is installed, proceed as follows.
- Remove insulation from the ends of the wires in the harness and on the new sensor.
- The new sensor is equipped with protective bushings for electrical wiring. Place the large grommet over both wires and the small grommet over the ends of the wires.
- Solder the sensor wires to the harness wires (it doesn't matter which one to which).
- Place the protective bushings in working position, then melt them using hot air.
10. Push the sensor into its sealing ring. Install the remaining components and connect the negative cable to the battery.
Fan relay and resistor
11. The model with air conditioning is equipped with a two-speed fan. The fan runs at low speed all the time while the air conditioning system is on. If the pressure in the refrigerant circuit increases or if the engine overheats, the fan switches to high speed.
12. Two fan speeds are achieved using two relays and a 0.28 ohm resistor. In slow mode, the resistor is connected in series with the fan motor. In fast mode the resistor is bypassed.

13. The fan relays are installed in the relay box on the left side of the engine compartment. To remove them, open the drawer, disconnect the multi-pin connectors and remove the relay. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
14. The resistor is located to the left of the radiator. To check its resistance, you don't need to remove the component; you just need to disconnect the multi-pin connector (see illustration).
