If, after running in the car, the oil consumption exceeds 0.5 liters per 1000 km, contact a Renault service station.
Interval: Check the engine oil level periodically, at least before every long trip, to avoid engine damage.
Oil level control
To accurately determine the oil level, park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine for a long time.
Oil level control:
- on the instrument panel;
- using an oil dipstick.
Checking the oil level according to the readings on the instrument panel
When turned on, measured for 30 s: if the oil level is normal, the display shows the inscription: "Oil level OK".
To determine the oil level more accurately, press the button to reset the trip odometer or the button to view information on the on-board computer.
The bars shown on the display indicate the oil level. As it decreases, the squares are gradually replaced by dashes: (message 2).
To return to normal on-board computer mode, press the button again.
At the minimum allowable oil level, the squares are completely replaced by dashes (message 3) and control lamp «ERVICE» lights up on the instrument panel.
After receiving such a signal, add oil to the normal level.
Determining the oil level with an oil dipstick
Remove the dipstick.
Wipe the dipstick with a clean, lint-free cloth.
Insert the dipstick all the way (for vehicles equipped with «probe plug» - tighten the plug completely. Remove the dipstick again. Check the oil level: it should never fall below the mark «MIN» or exceed the mark «MAX».
