Necessary equipment
- Spring compressor device.
Tightening torques, Nm
- Bolt for fastening the lower support of the telescopic stand 180.
- Nut for fastening the upper support cup of the spring on the shock absorber strut rod 60.
- Wheel mounting bolts 90.
Removal
1. Place the vehicle on a four-post lift.
2. Remove the wheels.
3. Bolts for fastening the lower support of the telescopic strut.
4. Disconnect the ABS sensor wire (if available) from the base of the telescopic stand.
5. Unscrew the nut of the upper support of the telescopic strut on the mudguard cup from the engine compartment.
6. Remove the telescopic strut assembly.
Replacing the shock absorber strut
To replace the shock absorber strut:
- clamp it in a vice and compress the spring using a spring compressor;
- unscrew the nut securing the upper spring support cup to the shock absorber strut rod;
- remove the spring and associated parts;
- if necessary, replace the upper support and the shock absorber strut rotation limiter;
- when installing, ensure that all parts are installed correctly, and then release the spring.
Note: Lubricate the ends of the spring coils and the surface of the stops on the support cups with grease.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the required tightening torques.
