Removal



1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.

2. To access the carburetor, remove the air filter as described in Chapter 2.

3. Using a screwdriver or pliers, disconnect the twisted end of the choke cable from the lever on the carburetor (see illustration).

5.3. Disconnect the choke cable from the carburetor.

4. Press the clip that secures the throttle cable housing to the bracket on the carburetor side (see illustration).

5. Working inside the vehicle, remove the screw securing the choke lever assembly to the panel. Remove the control assembly.

6. Disconnect the indicator lamp wire and cable. Remove the control assembly.



7. Press the sealing ring out of the bulkhead and pass the choke cable into the engine compartment.

Installation



8. Install in reverse order, adjust the cable as follows.

9. Adjust the cable so that when the control handle is fully extended, the choke plate on the carburetor is closed. Move the control handle to the position shown and make sure the choke plate is fully open (see illustration).
