Carburetor models
1. The fuel filter is installed in the outlet pipe of the fuel pump. To remove it, loosen the clamps (if any) and disconnect the filter from the hoses (see illustration).

2. Install a new filter, the arrow indicates the direction of fuel flow (from the fuel pump to the carburetor).
Fuel injection models
3. The fuel filter is installed under the vehicle, in front of the fuel tank. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it on axle stands.

4. Clamp the hose connecting the tank to the filter. Unscrew the clamp screw and loosen the clamps. Remove the filter.
5. Install a new filter, the arrow indicates the direction of fuel flow (from the fuel pump to the engine). Tighten the hose clamps and filter mounting clip (see illustrations).

26.5b. Secure the fuel filter with the clamp.
6. Remove the clamp from the hose and check that there are no fuel leaks, then lower the vehicle to the ground.
