Removal
1. The brake light switch is located on the pedal bracket under the dashboard.
2. To remove the switch, reach behind the dashboard, disconnect the wiring connector, and unscrew the switch from the bracket (see illustrations).

Installation and adjustment
3. Screw the switch into the mounting bracket.
4. Connect a continuity tester to the switch terminals (an ohmmeter or a 12V lamp with an independent power source). Turn the switch until the meter shows an open circuit (infinite resistance or the lamp goes out). Press the pedal gently and make sure the switch circuit closes (zero resistance or the lamp lights up) after the pedal has traveled approximately 5 mm. If necessary, move the switch to achieve this.
5. If you do not have a tester, make the adjustment by asking an assistant to observe the brake lights.
6. Reconnect the wiring and retest the operation of the brake lights.
