Materials needed: replacement filter element. When purchasing a new element, be guided by the power characteristics of the engine.
Removing
Vehicles with a 1.4 liter petrol engine (E7J)
1. Remove three screws 1 with hexagon head and one screw 2 with Phillips head screwdriver (see illustration).

2. Release latches 3 and remove the air filter cover (see illustration 10.1).
Vehicles with a 1.6 liter petrol engine (E7M) and with a 90 hp diesel engine. with turbocharger
3. Remove four screws (see arrows in illustration) and lift the air filter cover.

Vehicles with a 2.0 liter petrol engine and a 64 hp diesel engine. (except for the petrol engine with 16 valves of 2.0 liters)
4. Unscrew nine bolts 6 and remove the air filter cover (see illustration).

Cars with a 16-valve 2.0-liter gasoline engine
5. Release the seven latches 4, unscrew the three plastic screws 5 and remove the air filter cover (see illustration).

Vehicles with a 1.4-/1.6-liter petrol engine (K4J/K4M)
6. Loosen the hose clamp 3 of the air filter and disconnect it (see illustration).

7. Unscrew bolts I (cm; illustration 10.6).
8. Remove air filter box 2 (see illustration 10.6).
9. Remove the replacement filter element.
10. Wipe the inside of the air filter housing with a rag.
Installation
11. Install a new filter element in the air filter box.
12. Close the filter with a cover and fix it with screws or latches.
