Attention! It is prohibited to carry out work under a vehicle that is not securely supported on trestles or on a jacked-up vehicle. Danger to life!
Place the vehicle on the jacks only when unloaded. The jacks must be on a level surface (horizontal) and a hard surface.
If the wheels remain on the ground when the vehicle is lifted, support them with chocks to prevent the wheels from rolling forward or backward. Do not rely on the hand brake. It must be released for some work.
Place the sawhorses under the car so that one of their side legs extends outward.
Caution: To avoid damage to the underbody, use appropriate rubber or wooden pads.
The mounting points for the jack, lift or support trestles on the body are reinforced and are located at the front and rear of the vehicle on the side members 1 (see illustration 4.0).
4.0 Vehicle jacking points
The spar must enter the seat of the lift rod (jack).
Install the garage lift under the threshold channel, placing a wooden block on the lift stop, in which a groove for the channel has been selected (see illustration 4.0a). In addition, install two additional support sawhorses.
4.0a Installing a garage lift
When installing a car on a stationary lift, place the lift levers under the channels near the wheels.
When dismantling and installing the power unit, the RENAULT company requires that special attachments be put on the levers of the stationary lift to secure the car. These attachments are available in auto parts stores. The attachments are inserted into the holes on the channel, preventing the car from lifting and shifting when removing the power unit (see illustration 4.06). The side faces of the channel should fit into the recess of the nozzle.
