Attention! It is prohibited to work under an unsecuredly jacked-up car or a car that has been jacked up. Life threatening!
Only jack up the vehicle when unloaded. Goats must stand on a level (horizontal) and hard surface.
If the wheels remain on the ground when the vehicle is raised, chock them to prevent the wheels from rolling forward or backward. Don't rely on the handbrake. It needs to be loosened for some jobs.
Install the goats under the car so that one of their side legs goes out to the outside.
Attention! To avoid damage to the underbody, use suitable rubber or wood pads.
The points of installation of the jack, lift or stand on the body are reinforced and are located in the front and rear of the car on the side members 1 (see illustration 4.0).
4.0 Car jacking points
The spar must go into the seat of the lift rod (jack).
Install the garage lift under the threshold channel, laying a wooden block on the lift stop, in which the groove for the channel is selected (see illustration 4.0a). In addition, install two additional goats.
4.0a Installation of a garage lift
When installing the car on a stationary lift, place the lift levers under the channels near the wheels.
When dismantling and installing the power unit, RENAULT requires special attachments to be put on the levers of a stationary lift to fix the car. These tips are available from auto parts stores. Nozzles are inserted into the holes on the channel, preventing the car from lifting and moving when the power unit is removed (see illustration 4.06). The sides of the channel should go into the recess of the nozzle.
