Lay the gauge wire (11) along the axis of the connecting rod journals of the crankshaft (outside the area of the holes for greasing the bearings).
Note. Do not rotate the connecting rod or crankshaft during the following steps.
Install block «connecting rod - piston». Remove the block «connecting rod - piston». By flattening the calibrated wire, determine the gap between the liners and main journals using the scale printed on the package (12) wire.
Check the clearance, which should be within 0.037-0.07 mm.
Clean the crankshaft and main bearing shells from the remnants of the calibrated wire.
Checking the axial movement of the connecting rod
Using a feeler gauge, check that the clearance between the connecting rod and the crankshaft is 0.20-0.352 mm.
