Note the wiring harness routing and connections to the battery disconnect unit.
Unscrew the nut securing the power wires (2) on the battery disconnect box.
Disconnect the power wires from the battery disconnect unit.
Remove fastening nuts (3) fuse box and battery disconnector.
Disconnect the power wires (4) from the fuse and relay box in the engine compartment.
Move aside the fuse box at the point (5).
Remove the upper battery disconnect harness.
Remove mounting bolt (6) battery disconnect unit.
Attention. To prevent problems from occurring (noise, premature wear, short circuit, etc.) after installation, mark the wiring harness route and connector connection.
Partially remove the battery disconnect unit (7).
Disconnect the safety latches of the lower connectors (8).
Disconnect the bottom and side connectors from the battery isolator (9).
Remove the battery disconnect unit.
Connect the bottom and side connectors of the battery disconnect unit.
Make sure the bottom and side connectors are properly secured.
Block the bottom connectors (8) battery disconnect unit.
Install the battery disconnect unit by placing it in its slot on the battery tray.
Torque tighten the bolt of the battery disconnect unit on the battery shelf 8 Nm.
Install:
- upper battery disconnect unit wiring harness to the position noted during removal;
- fuse holder;
- power wires from the fuse box and engine compartment relay to the battery tray stud.
Attention. Incorrect tightening can cause hot contacts, engine start or battery charging failure, sparks, or battery explosion.
Torque tighten the fuse box mounting nuts 8 Nm.
Install the power wires of the battery disconnect unit.
Torque tighten:
- nuts securing the upper wiring harness of the battery disconnect unit 8 Nm;
- nut for fastening wires to the positive terminal of the battery 8 Nm.
