Front oil seal (from the pulley side)
1. This procedure is part of the drive cover removal and installation procedure. See Chapter 5.
2. Before installing the pulley hub, inspect the contact surface with the seal. If it is rough or grooved, replace the hub.
Rear oil seal (from the flywheel side)
3. Remove the flywheel as described in Chapter 10.
4. Press out the old oil seal with a small screwdriver, being careful not to damage the crankshaft surface. The seal can be removed in another way. Drill two small holes in it opposite each other and screw in self-tapping screws. Use pliers to remove the oil seal by the screws.

5. Inspect the contact surface with the oil seal on the crankshaft. If it is rough or has grooves in the area where the old seal touched, the new seal must be installed approximately 2 mm shallower.
6. Wipe the contact surface with the oil seal, then dip the new oil seal in oil and place it on the crankshaft with the closed side facing out.
7. Using a metal tube, hammer the seal into place.
8. Install the flywheel, see Chapter 10.
